TSSD 60 Inch Sewer
60-inch Outfall Rehabilitation Project (SR-1)
The contractor for the Timpanogos Special Service District (TSSD) will install a temporary sewer bypass system along 1500 South from 100 West to the TSSD treatment plant. Multiple black 18‑inch surface pipes will carry wastewater around the existing 60‑inch sewer line while it is rehabilitated and fitted with a new
plastic liner. Bypass pumps and above‑ground piping will be used to maintain continuous sewer service during this work. The pipes will primarily run along the north side of 1500 South. In locations where the surface pipe will block a driveway or cross a street, the contractor will bury the pipe to maintain a point of access.
Businesses and residents along 1500 South should expect intermittent traffic delays throughout this phase.
The overall project will run through the end of 2026.
Road closed to through traffic, at approximately 50 East on 1500 South.
The closure extends from Monday, June 22, through Friday, July 31, 2026 for sewer by-pass operations.

EXPECT
• Temporary lane restrictions
• Vehicle and pedestrian detours
• Increased noise, dust and vibration
• Workdays: Monday - Friday

SAFETY CONCERNS
Please review the following with your family and especially young children, to stay safe during construction.
1. STAY OUT OF WORK ZONE
Crews are actively working in the closure area, using large equipment to dig open trenches and install large pieces of pipe. This work presents many safety hazards to people walking, biking, or playing in the closures area. Please stay out of the work zone. Children especially should not be entering the work zone at any time, including when work is not occurring. Equipment, materials and trenches are not a playground.
2. SLOW DOWN
Reduce speed when traveling near and through the closure area. Speeding puts crew members, your passengers and yourself at risk. Give workers and trucks or equipment extra room and be prepared to stop if needed. Obey all posted speed limits.
3. BE ALERT
Avoid distractions such as using cell phones, eating, drinking and having conversations while driving in and near the project limits. Keep your full attention on the road.
STAY INFORMED
We urge you to stay informed about the work and the expected impacts. Just send an email to tssdsewerproject@gmail.com and write UPDATES in the subject line. You will then receive the updates for the project as they are posted.
